I was thinking of all our little jokes we had that for some reason only us would laugh hysterically over. Half the time Grandma and Mom would look at us like were crazy but we would laugh so hard that our stomachs and cheeks hurt. Out of everyone we had the most similar sense of humor. I miss joking around with you so much. Even simple things we would do just wont be the same. Even down to going to Baskin Robbins and Dunkin Donuts makes me think of funny memories. We were literally always together and with that being said, I have 29 years of amazing memories that one day I will share with my kids. My memory book of you is coming along so nice and I cant wait to show it to Grandma and Mom.

So I finally told Mom and Grandma the other day that in the beginning of the summer I took you to Starbucks in Staten Island. That day was funny to say the least. Grandma wanted me to take you out so I decided to take you to Staten Island for a latte. The expression on your face as you see us approaching the Verazzano Bridge was priceless. At first of course you weren't happy with the idea and thought Grandma would be mad until I said lets keep it our little secret. Let Grandma and Mom think I took you by the house. You were happy because you haven't been to Staten Island in a while. It was fun, we went to Starbucks and sat there and gossiped about my love life and whatever else. We blasted my radio the whole way there. I always loved taking you out, never a dull moment! How about the time we were shopping and there was a cat in the store so I decided to take food from the store and feed the cat and all you could do is say "let's get out now they may have camera's LOL. You thought we would get thrown out but I said I was just doing them a favor by feeding their cat. I miss our joyriding trips!

I always followed Gramps around when I was a little girl, I was his shadow. Everything he had to do I wanted to watch. Gramps would always fix things up in the house and on the roof so I would beg him to let me help with something. When we would climb on the roof we would always leave a letter with that date and with a little not and put it where he was cementing. We have countless notes from the wall of the garage to the under the steps in the backyard where he put my toys as a memory. The last letter we wrote that we stuck in the wall was sometime in my early 20's. Even as an adult I loved watching and helping Gramps do things and now that carried on in my adult life and I'm the handy one that fixes everything for Grandma and Mom. If I never had those experience I would be clueless on those things. I'm so thankful and grateful for all the things Gramps showed me, he had the patience of a saint teaching me!

When I was a little girl, I would love to hop into bed and crawl between Gramps and Grandma and try to let them allow me to stay up because I wanted to see Santa. Mom would try to get me to go to bed early and leave out the cookies and milk but I always would manage to get Gramps to let me stay up until I would just fall asleep. Gramps would try to trick me and dress up as Santa the next day but I always knew it was Gramps all along. Each year from as far back as I can remember up until my last Christmas with Gramps was always a fun, beautiful memory. Christmas Eve was always my favorite holiday with Gramps.

dearest daddy, my fondest memory of thanksgiving spending this particular holiday would be making your own personal cut out booties for the turkey to wear. daddy, when i was just a little girl attending st athanasius school, you surprised the family and brought home a real live turkey in a cage with the most colorful feathers ever. we kept him in the hallway in the corridor of your house. i was so thrilled yet sad to see him leave in a few days. i could never get mad at you. you sat me down and explained the truth as you would always do. you always seem to have such a pleasant explanation with just everything in life. you would always make me feel

so special in school due to the fact you would be the responsible parent to make donations at this festive holiday. you would also supply me with huge turkey pictures to decorate my classroom.  you are the best person i have ever met.

i love you unconditionally.

love your best friend and only daughter maryann
